These tools help doctors diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions - faster - and with greater precision than ever before. The Emergency Department at HRMC has 24 beds and sees 27,000 patients every year. Level IV trauma center servicing all emergencies with the nearest Level I trauma center over 2 hours in any direction. The hospital has 181 licensed beds with a wide range of specialty services. From blunt trauma to penetrating injuries due to boating accidents, the ED has a high acuity with an approximate 28% admit rate.

The ED is technologically advancded with an EMR system called MedHost. All orderes are entered via the EMR with test results and radiology results all pushed to within the EMR. Average patient ED turnaround time is 100 minutes to admit or discharge. We see aprroximately 1.6 patient/hour with 24 hours of ED attending coverage, 10 hours of midlevel, and an additional 12 hours of either midlevel, famliy practice, or 3rd/4th year ED resident moonlighting per day. We value patient satisfaction and generally lead the hospital with our scores. There is a hospitalist program which performs all amdits. We have many subspecialities such as surgery, neruorsurgery, tele-neurology, orthopedics, invasive cardiology as well as cardiothoracics. We have an ultrasound unit in the ED as well as a Glidescope. All rooms are monitored.
